Futuro Show
A total show on the Art of Entertainment
Presented by curator David Herman
Featuring artists Mathias Kiss, JoeyStarr, Moodoïd & Mateo Garcia
With contributions from designers AMCA Oval and Natalia Brilli.

The Futuro Show presents itself as an exhibition-event reflecting the “living” spirit of Marché Dauphine, particularly its roots in the utopian heritage and 20th-century pop culture, as traditionally embodied in the market’s central square by the Futuro House, a relic of Space Age architecture (Matti Suuronen, 1968).

With nostalgia but without passéism, the universe of the market’s antique dealers—through a curated selection of historical art and design objects, HiFi equipment, clothing, publications, records, and iconic posters—is staged via a scenographic installation reminiscent of the golden age of television set design, from cult references like Temps X to the eras of Canal+ and MTV.

Through a transgenerational and multidisciplinary dialogue between this collection and contemporary figures—Mathias Kiss with an in-situ artistic installation, JoeyStarr presenting original boards from his graphic novel Supertanker, Moodoïd reinterpreting album cover design with ten artists and designers, and Mateo Garcia with his sound ensemble, alongside designers Amca Oval and Natalia Brilli—the Futuro Show expresses the enduring connection between this extraordinary open-air source of inspiration that is Dauphine and the act of creation.

This connection rests on the shared foundation of “Entertainment,” an Anglo-Saxon term that emerged in the postwar era with the rise of mass culture in the United States. Beyond its excesses, it revealed the virtuous synergies between avant-garde and popular culture, generating emotions and collective imaginaries whose educational and transformative potential we can still measure today. The artistic family brought together for the Futuro Show embraces this liberating and unifying energy while infusing it with its own vision, balancing rediscovery of classical heritage with contemporary transformations to reimagine the future.

Far from being a static contemplative experience, the Futuro Show will be regularly activated by events in the form of talk shows, live music performances, culinary encounters, fashion events, and auctions. These will explore themes spanning the full spectrum of pop culture—music, art, design, interiors, fashion, television, and comics. A program featuring names such as musician Jay-Jay Johanson, culinary artist Marie Chemorin, solo cellist Lisa Strauss, and vintage experts like José Lamali (a Dauphine dealer) will be unveiled soon.

Stay tuned: like the life of a flea market itself, the Futuro Show will be in constant motion, regularly refreshing its curation of rare collectible pieces and original works by contemporary artists.
