A trained cabinetmaker, Richard Rosset joined a leather casing workshop in Paris where he developed a passion for leatherwork. Following this first experience, he established his own business in May 1989, under the name ART & CUIRS.
From then on, he has worked for antique dealers, decorative cabinetmakers, not to mention palaces, state buildings such as Hôtel Matignon, the Cour des Comptes, etc. This craftsman, also a gilder, is always happy to share his knowledge. He has received the prestigious “Living Heritage Company” label from the French government.
At Marché Dauphine, he presents 19th century highboys, filing cabinets, notary’s minute books, and smaller objects such as writing cases, sewing cases, cigar cases, etc.
Richard also selects refined marquetry pieces made of precious woods, such as small rosewood boxes with cut corners, ebony jewelry boxes, ivory or mother-of-pearl fans, 19th century mailboxes, and 19th century Regency-style gloves boxes.
