Since childhood, Simon Sfez has been immersed in antiques because his father was an antique dealer. Very young, he devoted himself to gilding on wood and he quickly specialised in gilding frames.

Simon hunts for frames that he restores and sells to individuals or institutions. He is one of the ten experts in frames and gilded wood in France. He restores, in particular, Spanish frames from the 17th century, using the technique of burnishing with agate stone. This technique consists of burnishing the gold leaf and giving it a polished appearance. The polished effect is obtained by performing rotary movements with the tool.
